Reading and Writing
Sight Words |
Memorizing sight words is important to begin reading. These are common words that your child needs to know to be successful in Kindergarten. Here are some sight word games to make learning the words fun!
Memory - Make two sets of sight word cards. Turn one card over at a time and try to remember where it's match is! Go Fish - Make two sets of sight word cards. Take turns asking your partner for the card you need. Fun Writing - Write your sight words in shaving cream, a plate of rice, sand, etc. Magnetic Letters - Build sight words on the fridge. Spelling City - Enter some of the words on the homepage. Play the free games. Wordle - Create beautiful artwork out of our sight words. Type the words in the box. The more times you type a word, the bigger it will get. Print it out and send it in to class! Sight Word Swat - Tape the cards to the wall or lay them out on the floor. Say a word and have your child "swat" it as fast as they can. |
