School Information
Arrival |
The school doors open at 7:15 am. Students may enter the building to sit outside the classrooms. Breakfast is available at this time. Students are expected to read quietly outside their teacher’s classroom until 7:30am. Parents are allowed to drop students off outside the classroom. If you choose to stay, please sit with your child and read quietly. At 7:30am, students enter classrooms and begin morning routines. Please allow your child to do their morning routine independently.
School officially begins at 7:40am. We begin learning right away. When students arrive late, it is disruptive to the learning environment. Students are marked tardy if they arrive at school after 7:40am. |
Dismissal |
Each family will be assigned 3 home ID cards. They will be used to match adults to children. When you come to get your child, we will match your home ID card with an ID card attached to your student’s backpack. Anyone picking up your child will need one of the home ID cards in order for your child to be released to them. Please make sure anyone picking up your child is aware of our dismissal policy and let them know they will be asked for the child’s home pick up ID card.
Our dismissal area is in the front of the school (on Elkhorn Mountain Trl). |
Absences |
Students who arrive after 9:00am will be marked absent. If you know that your child is going to be out for any reason, please let the teacher know ahead of time. If your child misses school due to illness, please call the office at 464-4200 and report your child’s absence. All absences must be verified. You can also email the teacher ([email protected]) and our registrar at ([email protected]).

Cafeteria |
Our lunch time is 11:51-12:23.
Lunch prices are $2.70 for students and $3.60 for adults. Milk is $.60 and breakfast $1.35. Reduced lunch is $0.40 and reduced breakfast is $0.30. You may choose to pay the cafeteria (in person or online) or send the money in a bag/envelope labeled with your child's name on it. Ice cream and other snacks are available at an additional cost and your child needs to bring a note from home allowing them to make these purchases. Parents are welcome to join their children for lunch AFTER the first few weeks of school. Once routines have been established, we will invite parents to eat in the cafeteria with us. |
Pioneer
|
Our school has adopted a program called Positive Behavior Intervention Supports or PBIS. This program is a pro-active and pro-social way to manage student discipline. Students are formally taught school behavior expectations and routines. The focus is on positive reinforcement and students are routinely rewarded for demonstrating positive behaviors both in the classroom and school-wide. We are proud of the many students that are recognized monthly for showing what we call “Pioneer Pride”.
Pioneer PRIDE Expectations: P - Perseverance R - Respect I - In Control D - Dependable E - Encouraging You can help support Pioneer Pride by using the “pride” vocabulary at home! |
Sweet
|
“Sweet Friday” is a school-wide enrichment program that focuses on applying skills and concepts learned in school to real world contexts through units of study based on topics generated by students. These units are researched and facilitated by teachers, parents and community members. If you have some time you can give, there is a Sweet Friday group that needs you! Also, if you have a talent or hobby to share there is a group of students waiting to learn from you! Contact your teacher for more information about this great volunteer opportunity!

Volunteer |
Throughout the school year there will be many chances for families to volunteer their time at school. Listed below are the many ways you can get involved. Every class will need a room leader/party planner (a PTA liaison for the class booth at the “Fall Festival” and for classroom parties).
We are also looking for: ✓classroom volunteers ✓ field trip chaperones ✓ school function volunteers ✓ participation in school activity nights and student celebrations ✓ classroom jobs, especially help with stuffing Tuesday communication folders with school notices. ✓ working with students (Adults willing to work with children will need to fill out the district volunteer background check form available at the school office or online via the Pond Springs website.) |
